Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium (ADISS)

The six-week Abu Dhabi International Sculpture Symposium (ADISS) concluded last week during a ceremony held at the Armed Forces Officers Club. During the closing ceremony, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of Zayed University, unveiled 17 pieces of art which were designed by the 17 world-renowned contemporary artists who participated in ADISS. The artists transformed large huge blocks of marble, granite and other preferred materials such as steel and stainless steel into the final distinguished pieces of art. Shaikh Nahyan stressed the importance of promoting artistic values that will help further affirm Abu Dhabi's position as a new beacon and top destination for the arts in the Middle East region.
